Rissa’s Newcrest Family Tree Challenge Rules

The goal of this Sims 4 challenge is to fill up the entire Newcrest neighborhood over several generations of the same family.

Start with one sim (recommend to start with a story for extra skills!) move them into a 15×20 lot in the Newcrest neighborhood Bridgeview. This sim must have a child with an NPC* (doesn’t need to marry them) or adopt a child. This child is the heir. When the heir grows up, they move out of the lot and build a new house in Bridgeview. Same thing for each generation, filling up Bridgeview and then moving on to Ridgeline Drive before finally moving to Llama Lagoon. The challenge ends when the entire neighborhood is full.

Nitty Gritty Rules:

  • Heirs must retain the original family name! You can change this in CAS if you need to.
  • Only up to 2 new lots per generation. If you have more than 2 kids, only 2 of them may get new lots.
  • Aging must be on in the active household, but you can play with aging off for inactive households to help stop the constant death calls.
  • Cheat if you want, I’m not the cops. This challenge should be fun and if cheats help that? Go for it buddy.
  • When moving a spouse in, they may only bring in up to 20k simoleans. When moving out to a new lot, you can take all the money with you to the new household.
  • You may use CAS to change if a partner can get people pregnant/get pregnant so you can have babies the old fashioned way with same gender couples
  • Toddlers must have level 3 in all skills before aging up, and children and teens must be A students.
  • You must use the randomizer tool for traits when kids age up. For added challenge, use a random number generator to determine aspirations.
  • You may add vet clinics or retail lots to the neighborhood only if it’s part of your sim’s aspiration/one of their whims
  • You don’t need to build your own homes, but it’s an added challenge if you’re up for it!
  • You can use 1 lot for a family cemetery if you want! You can use Little Miss Sam’s Release All Ghosts mod if you need to find urns 🙂

Hard Mode Rules:

  • Start with $2k after buying a lot (use the cheat console (ctrl+shift+c) to do “money 2000”)
  • Every new active lot starts with only $2k
  • New spouses can only bring $2k in when joining the household

Eco-Lifestyle Rules:

  • Every active lot you’ve played must have a green footprint before you can move on
  • You may use a lot in the neighborhood to be a Community Space

*NPC means non player character, so a sim you didn’t create that spawns in the world. Sims downloaded from the gallery are okay if your dating pool is low.
