I was wondering about the answer to the question of why the family dislikes marianna. According to the family tree marianna is a Thornton and her husband dodge is the one who marry’s into the family. So if marianna isn’t white does that mean she was adopted or did her dad Jackson marry a non-Caucasian women and if so wouldn’t marianna’s whole family be disliked, which includes both wade and clara’s mothers.
Yeah someone just gave us this clarification! We misread the family tree. I’m putting a note into the episode notes so people know 🙂
